Pecans prefer warm, long summers and mild winters. They are less susceptible to disease and can tolerate lower winter temperatures, but thrive best in areas without sudden cold snaps in spring.

When to plant?
The best time to plant is early spring or late autumn.
Planting method:
- Dig a hole 50–60 cm deep.
- Add compost or well-rotted manure.
- Carefully insert the seedling without bending the roots.
- Water it thoroughly.
- Insert a support stake if necessary.
Planting distance:
20–25 m in industrial plantations and at least 10–12 m in the garden.
CARE IN THE FIRST YEARS

- Mulching helps retain moisture in the soil.
- Fertilize with organic fertilizer to promote root growth.
- Crown shaping – removal of competing main shoots and weak branches.
Pecan trees typically bear fruit between the 6th and 10th year, with maximum yield reached between the 15th and 20th year.
